Coming up this weekend on Saturday is the second annual running of the Nation's Trotting Cup. The 2,000m race is a mobile trot open to all ages. A purse of $225,000 is available and the top six finishers of the elimination heats last weekend have qualified for the main event. Here, we'll take a look at the field of contenders for this race.

Coldens Diamond MT heads the field after winning her elimination heat in 2:37.66. She was second in the HarnessNation Trotting Marathon Stakes three starts ago and handled the cut back in distance well. She has a FMR of 2:03.9, earned back on July 11th over 2,200m.
Donna Jean also won her elimination heat in 2:44.13. She was victorious in The Trillium Cup prior to that, which was at the same distance with a standing start. She has won all seven of her starts this season and will look to continue that streak. She has an FMR of 1:56.29 from June.
What A Spell ran second in his elimination heat in 2:38.13. These conditions are right up his alley and he has an FMR of 1:54.15 from May.
Happy Daze was second in his elimination heat in 2:46.96. In his start prior to that he earned his FMR of 1:56.86 over 1,900m.
Current Cha Ching was third in his elimination heat in 2:43.84 and typically races a bit longer than this. He has an FMR of 2:01.37 from the start of the season.
Aphrodite finished third in her elimination heat in 2:47.16. She is used to slightly shorter races and has an FMR of 1:49.91 from June.
Young Guns was fourth in his elimination heat in 2:43.88 and was also fourth in The Trillium Cup prior to that. He typically races with a standing start and has 6 wins this season from 9 starts. He has an FMR of 1:55.04, earned five starts ago over 1,700m.
Asking Amanda ran fourth in his elimination heat in 2:47.7. It was his first lost this season after winning four straight. These conditions are up his alley and he has an FMR of 1:57.91 from May.
I Love Lucy was undefeated in 7 starts heading into the elimination and finished fifth in 2:44.85. She has an FMR of 1:59.41 from July 3rd and usually races over these conditions.
Mapleleaf Buddy ran fifth in his elimination heat in 2:50.47. He has an FMR of 1:58.17, earned back in June. His wins mostly come from shorter races.
Shes A Maniac finished sixth in her elimination heat in 2:45.26. She typically races over 1,900m and has an FMR of 1:55.59, earned on July 14th over that distance.
Tower Of Trot was sixth in his elimination heat in 2:51.46. He has just two wins this season from 7 starts and has an FMR of 1:57.29 from back in June.
